Fostering Reading Success: From Child Functioning to Learning Environments

The Second National READy Training Course was developed for primary school teachers, with the aim of deepening knowledge about risk and protective factors in literacy acquisition, promoting more effective intervention in response to early difficulties. In addition, incorporating feedback gathered from teachers in the first edition of the course, special attention will be given to classroom behavioural dynamics, exploring how disruptive behaviours in the classroom can influence the development of reading skills and students’ engagement in the learning process. Over four modules, the course will address: the early signs of reading difficulties; the influence of social and cognitive contexts; the role of digital tools in promoting literacy; and the identification of disruptive behaviours in the classroom, as well as strategies for their prevention. Combining theory and practice, the course equips teachers to identify challenges, adjust teaching strategies, and enhance learning opportunities, promoting literacy across diverse educational contexts.
